Spot Removal in Portland, OR
Targeted work on a single stain or mark on paint or inside the cabin, without putting the whole car through a full detail.
Sometimes the whole car is fine and it is one thing bothering you, a coffee spill on the seat, a bird dropping that etched into the clear coat before anyone noticed it, a tar spot picked up on the freeway, an ink mark on the door panel. Spot removal deals with that one problem without booking the car in for a full interior or exterior detail.
The first step is figuring out what the mark actually is, because the wrong approach can make it worse. Bird droppings are acidic and can etch clear coat if they sit, which sometimes means the spot needs light polishing rather than just a chemical treatment. A coffee stain in fabric needs a different extraction approach than a grease stain, and using the wrong product on either can set the stain permanently instead of lifting it.
Once the mark is identified, it gets treated and blended into the surrounding area so it does not stand out as an obviously cleaner or glossier patch next to the rest of the panel or seat.

How a spot removal job runs
-
Identify the mark
The spot gets assessed to figure out what caused it, since that changes the right way to treat it.
-
Test first
A small area is treated first to confirm the approach works without damaging the surface around it.
-
Treat and lift
The mark is treated with the appropriate chemical or mechanical method for what it actually is.
-
Blend and inspect
The treated area is blended into the surrounding paint or fabric so it does not stand out.
Questions we get asked
Will the treated spot match the rest of the panel or seat?
That is the goal of the blending step, working the treated area into the surrounding finish so there is not a visibly cleaner or glossier patch.
Is spot removal cheaper than a full detail?
It is scoped to just the one problem area rather than the whole car, which is the point of booking it separately from a full interior or exterior detail.
What if the stain has been there a long time?
Older stains can still often be lifted, but a stain that has fully set into fabric or etched deep into clear coat may only partially improve rather than disappear completely.
How long does a ceramic coating last?
We offer a 5 year and a 9 year ceramic coating package. How long yours actually lasts comes down to how the car is washed and looked after once the coating is on.
What does a ceramic coating do?
It bonds to your clear coat and adds a hard, water repelling layer. It protects against UV, dirt, road grime and water spots, it deepens the gloss, and it makes the car much easier to wash.
